Oh, the extensive and winding street that is at times traveled the place these columns are involved.

Past week, Sweet Harold instructed me about a recipe shared on social media from The Farmer’s Almanac. The recipe was for a Depression Era cake that experienced no eggs, butter or milk. I told Miz Betty, my mama, and she was intrigued as nicely.

We experienced a prolonged chat about foodstuff that she experienced eaten while a youthful girl during the 1930s. Unsurprisingly, the foods she mentioned ended up foodstuff we liked through my childhood in the 1960s.

I requested my Facebook web page followers what they viewed as Depression Era meals. Again, the the greater part of responses have been those people exact foodstuff my relatives relished.

Ahead of we get to dessert, I’ll share recipes that are delightful illustrations of property cooking, no make any difference the era!
